Some recipes carry more than flavour; they carry memories.
This Turkish Delight recipe has been part of our family's celebrations for as long as I can remember. It was lovingly made by my Aunty Winnie for our launch party, but its story goes back much further. We also made this very recipe for our wedding, and it has appeared on countless tables at family gatherings, marking life's most special moments.
Soft, fragrant and delicately sweet, scented with rose water and sprinkled with pistachios, it has become one of those treasured family traditions that everyone looks forward to. The recipe is so close to our hearts that we even named one of our beautiful peony roses Turkish Delight, a bloom that captures the same sense of romance, nostalgia and celebration.
Aunty Winnie's Turkish Delight
For the Delight
2 cups granulated sugar
¾ cup cornstarch (cornflour), plus extra for dusting
1½ cups cold water, divided
1 tsp lemon juice
1½ tbsp rose water
½ cup shelled, unsalted pistachios, roughly chopped (optional)
1–2 drops red food colouring (optional)
For Dusting
½ cup powdered sugar (icing sugar)
½ cup cornstarch
There is something magical about sharing a recipe that has been passed around a family table for generations. Every piece of Turkish Delight reminds us that the sweetest moments in life are often the ones shared with those we love most.

From our family to yours, we hope this recipe brings a little sweetness to your celebrations too.
Love
Ramona
