Our peony bare roots are living plants, carefully selected and packed by hand before making their way to you. As living products, their condition can naturally vary, and we want to ensure you have clear guidance on what to expect.

Before Planting

Please inspect your peony bare root as soon as it arrives. If your root appears damaged, diseased, significantly dried out, or otherwise not in a condition suitable for planting, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery.

We will assess the root and, where appropriate, offer a replacement, store credit or refund.

Once Planted

Because peony bare roots are living products, we cannot accept returns once a root has been planted.

We cannot guarantee flowering in the first season, as establishment depends on planting depth, soil, climate, watering, dormancy and ongoing care. Failure to flower after planting does not, on its own, qualify for a refund or replacement.

Natural Variation

Bare roots may vary in size, shape, number of eyes and appearance. Small differences are completely natural and do not necessarily indicate a problem with the plant.

Peonies are also naturally slow-growing and may take time to establish. Patience is part of the pleasure of growing them.

Incorrect or Damaged Orders

If you receive the wrong variety or your root arrives damaged, please notify us within 24 hours of delivery so that we can investigate and assist.

Important

Please do not plant a root that you believe is damaged or unsuitable before contacting us. Once planted, we may no longer be able to determine whether an issue was present upon arrival or resulted from planting or subsequent care.
